Outside of work, Steven enjoys spending time with his family and dogs, as well as playing golf and cycling.

Paula
Community Support Worker
Paula works alongside participants to help build confidence, independence and a sense of comfort in everyday life.

Paula brings over a decade of experience in the disability sector to her role as a Disability Support Worker at CatholicCare Wollongong. Easy-going, approachable, and genuinely interested in the people she works with, she has a knack for making others feel at ease.
Her approach is grounded in connection. Paula takes the time to understand what matters to each person she supports, and works alongside them to build confidence, independence, and a sense of comfort in everyday life. It’s this steady, down-to-earth style that participants and families consistently respond to.
Away from work, Paula spends her time in her Balinese-inspired garden, with her horses and chickens, or out fishing when the weather’s right. Calming music and time outdoors are how she recharges.

Community Support Worker

Kyle is a Disability Support Worker at CatholicCare Wollongong who chose this career because he genuinely believes in the difference good support can make. For him, compassion, kindness, and generosity aren’t just nice ideas, they’re the basis of every meaningful connection.
He works with participants to help them live more independently and get more out of everyday life, whether that’s through social activities, daily routines, or simply showing up with consistency and care. Kyle’s warmth and easy manner make him particularly well-suited to people looking for support that feels personal rather than transactional.
Outside of work, Kyle is rarely sitting still. He’s usually on the basketball court, at the gym, or out walking his dogs – staying active is a big part of who he is.

Born and raised in New Zealand, Amber grew up with a strong sense of kindness, hard work, and community. These are values she has carried into every chapter of her career. As a Registered Nurse with years of experience across a variety of healthcare settings, including Aged Care and General Practice, she brings both clinical depth and a genuinely caring approach to her work.
For Amber, good care goes beyond the medical side of things. She is known for going the extra mile to make sure patients receive not only the best medical treatment, but also the compassion and support they deserve.
Outside of work, family is everything. Amber is a proud wife and mum to two young girls, and says they are her greatest source of inspiration. Whether she is caring for her loved ones or her patients, she strives to bring warmth and understanding into every relationship she nurtures. When she is not busy with family or patient care, you will often find her travelling and exploring new places, drawn to the idea that life is about discovering new horizons, both in her career and the world around her.

Jana is an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse with a background spanning acute hospital settings, community nursing, aged care, palliative care, and disability support. This breadth of experience gives her a well-rounded clinical perspective and the ability to adapt her approach to suit a wide range of client needs.
Her clinical expertise, combined with strong problem-solving skills, has been a real asset in providing person-centred care to vulnerable clients in the community. Jana is known for her calm personality and active listening, and her professional approach and positive attitude are admired by clients and colleagues alike.
With a high degree of emotional intelligence, Jana ensures the people she works with feel safe, trusted, and heard. She has supported many clients with complex care needs in the community, building trusted relationships along the way.

Sadia is a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse who brings warmth, skill, and compassion to every aspect of her role. With over four years of experience across Community Aged Care, Acute Aged Care, and dialysis, she has built a strong foundation in supporting older people through every stage of their care journey.
Her person-centred approach and deep understanding of aged and disability care mean she provides evidence-based, holistic support tailored to each individual’s needs. Sadia’s expertise includes behavioural assessment, medication management, and care planning, all delivered with genuine empathy and respect.
Alongside her role at CatholicCare, Sadia works as a dialysis nurse across two public hospitals in the South Western Sydney Local Health District. She is also an accredited Lymphoedema Therapist and a certified Vaccination Worker, which further broadens the scope of care she can provide.
Sadia’s calm presence, love of nature, and ability to connect meaningfully with people make her a trusted support for many clients. She takes the time to listen, understand, and walk alongside older individuals on their journey, always aiming to improve their quality of life through thoughtful care and appropriate support solutions.

Driven by a focus on helping clients reach their full potential, Emerson uses evidence-based exercise rehabilitation alongside strong hands-on physiotherapy skills to get the most out of every treatment. He places equal importance on building rapport, making sure clients feel comfortable and supported throughout their care.

She thrives in a multidisciplinary team environment and takes a holistic approach to care, placing real value on the relationships she builds with each client. For Emily, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing someone reach a goal they once thought was out of reach.
