Chaplaincy in Juvenile Justice
A consistent, trusted presence offering spiritual and emotional support to young people, staff and families at Reiby Juvenile Justice Centre.
Our chaplaincy ministry at Reiby Juvenile Justice Centre in Airds offers holistic spiritual and emotional support to young people, staff, and families within the centre.
The ministry provides non-judgemental companionship, support with reintegration, and a safe presence – welcoming everyone, regardless of religious denomination or belief.
Why this work matters
Young people in juvenile justice often experience significant disruption, uncertainty, and separation from family and community. Within this environment, chaplaincy offers a consistent, trusted presence in supporting emotional wellbeing and personal reflection during a challenging period of their lives.
Our chaplain works alongside young people in a way that respects their individual experiences, cultural backgrounds and beliefs in order to create space for conversation, listening and support without expectation or judgement.
