Youth Mental Health First Aid
About
Youth Mental Health First Aid is an evidence‑based training program that equips adults with the skills and confidence to support a young person who may be experiencing a mental health challenge or crisis.
Adolescence is a time of significant change, and many young people can experience difficulties with their mental health during this stage. This course helps parents, carers, educators and community members recognise the early warning signs and respond in a safe, supportive and practical way.
Using real‑life scenarios and a structured action plan, participants learn how to approach a young person, start a conversation about mental health, and guide them towards appropriate support. The focus is on early intervention, reducing stigma, and helping young people feel heard, understood and connected to care.
