The Gift of Giving
Brock and Jordan were in the Fostering Futures program with CatholicCare for over 12 years and 18 months ago they were adopted by their long-term carers.
Brock and Jordan are both involved in their local community youth centre where they entered a competition and were fortunate to win over $1,000 worth of Lego. After kindly gifting some of the Lego to friends in need they very generously approached CatholicCare with the offer to donate the remaining Lego for use at CatholicCare's Children's Contact cottages in Campbelltown, Wollongong and Nowra.
Jordan said "We really wanted the opportunity to give back to a place that has played a huge part in our lives….we had a lot of contact days in the cottages in Wollongong and Campbelltown, these days made us very nervous but what helped us was being able to play with toys at the cottage."
Jordan and Brock said they "wanted the opportunity to give back to kids who are in care and let them feel more comfortable, safe and happier when they visit their family."
CatholicCare would like to thank Brock and Jordan for their gift and for the kindness, generosity and empathy they have shown to children and young people in foster care.
