There was joy, laughter, and celebrations as 200 CatholicCare staff enjoyed their first face-to-face team day since 2018. The event was an opportunity to recognise how tough it's been to deliver community services during the pandemic and thank staff for their commitment to supporting the people we serve.

Everyone enjoyed socialising with colleagues across the agency, from aged care workers to foster care managers and school counsellors to NDIS support workers. The theme for the day was Belonging & Community – Our Stories, Our Impact.

The team shared reflections on how they had personally coped over the last few years, with incredible stories of resilience and comradery. It was particularly inspiring to hear stories about impact and transformation in the lives of the people we serve, responding to the call of our mission. Staff gave feedback about what inspired them in their roles and what they needed to feel valued.

Another highlight of the event was the keynote speaker Dr Tim Sharp, an internationally renowned leader in the field of Positive Psychology, a best-selling author, TV personality, newspaper columnist and people coach. His presentation captured the interest of staff, with practical tips on how to establish positive pathways and prioritise self-care. 

The day included some fun team building activities, a lovely lunch at the Novotel Northbeach and gifts to help everyone feel appreciated and connected.
