CatholicCare named Outstanding Community Organisation

On Friday night, CatholicCare Diocese of Wollongong was named Outstanding Community Organisation at the 2026 Illawarra Business Awards.

It was a proud moment for CatholicCare, as the award recognises the significant and lasting contribution made by CatholicCare to the community.

For more than 45 years, we have walked alongside people across the Illawarra, Shoalhaven, Macarthur and Southern Highlands. Through aged care, disability support, early learning, foster care, counselling and family services, our teams are there for people through some of the most important and most challenging moments of their lives.

This is the first year we have entered the Illawarra Business Awards, so to be named the winner in our category is an honour.

“I’m incredibly proud of CatholicCare to have won this award,” CEO Michael Austin said. “The award belongs to every staff member. They show up for our community every day, often at the hardest moments of their lives. This is just recognition of their care, and I couldn’t be prouder of them.”

Thank you to all of our staff who made this award win possible.
