Celebrating National OSHC Educators Day

National Out of School Hour Care (OSHC) Educators Day is on July 26th and the theme for this year is "At the Heart of the Community". This is an opportunity for us to celebrate and recognise the important role Educators play in the lives of children.

CatholicCare Wollongong is an approved provider of OSHC in the Illawarra and Macarthur areas, currently operating in 12 schools.

OSHC services are located within school grounds and provide children with a safe and welcoming environment, catering to a wide range of activities for children of differing ages, interests, and needs. Our OSHC Educators collaborate with children to provide play and leisure opportunities which are meaningful to them and that support their wellbeing, learning and personal development.

One of our OSHC Educators, Bek, has been working in childcare for over 20 years and shared with us what she enjoys most about being an OSHC Educator: "I love the fact that I'm a part of a child's life that may affect their future", she said. "If you're creative, imaginative and hands-on, it's a great place to release your inner child".

We are so incredibly thankful to have over 70 CatholicCare OSHC Educators who provide invaluable support to children and families. With cheery smiles and lots of laughter, our amazing team have helped our OSHC children learn, grow, and connect with themselves and each other.

Thank you so much to our incredible team of OSHC Educators for your enthusiasm and care for making a positive impact in our community.

If you know someone who would be a great candidate to join our OSHC Educator team, then please encourage them to visit our Careers page and apply for one of the available Educator positions.
