Student Placements

We are committed to the future of the sector and the people who work in it.

One way we ensure the best people are attracted to and retained in the sector is to offer opportunities for people studying human service-oriented qualifications to get hands-on experience under the stewardship of some of the best practitioners in the region.

CatholicCare supports students from a number of different disciplines to get the much-needed practical experience necessary to fulfil their course requirements.

Limited placements may be offered in the following disciplines and training areas:

  • Community Welfare
  • People & Culture
  • Marketing
  • Information Technologies
  • Community Welfare
  • Youth Work
  • Aged Care
  • Community Education
  • Finance
  • Administration
  • Child Welfare
  • Disability Services

Placements are conditional on a number of factors including placement vacancies at a given time, changing operational demands on the Agency and candidates’ suitability. CatholicCare receives many applications for student placements each year and competition for places is strong.  Each candidate must make a formal application and attend an interview before being considered for a placement.

To improve your chances of success, plan ahead.  Submit your application early and provide as much supporting information as possible. Applications will be considered and placements offered at CatholicCare’s sole discretion.  Formal applications are to be made on CatholicCare's Student Application for Placement Form.

Students considering applying for a placement at CatholicCare should read our Student Placement Policy.

If you are interested in applying for a student placement, go to the Careers tab on our website, select the Current Vacancies section and submit your interest on the Student Placements advertisement.
