Volunteers - Everyone Counts

CatholicCare Wollongong hosted an afternoon tea during National Volunteer Week to thank the many volunteers who provide support in our Diocese and show appreciation for the work that they do.

CatholicCare started with just 10 volunteers in 1980. Now with over 190 volunteers, Director Kath McCormack told attendees at the May 16 function that they are 'the backbone of the organisation' adding that with the assistance of volunteers, CatholicCare is now able to provide a vast range of services like the Community Visitors SchemeFamily and Sibling Support ProgramPastoral Care initiatives and Disability Flexible Options. There are even volunteers who give up their time to be on our Race and Golf Day fundraising committees who help us raise much needed funds for some of our services.
Without Volunteers, these services wouldn't be possible, so thank you to all CatholicCare volunteers who work tirelessly for the agency.
